Health insurance in San Francisco has broken new grounds and has set a good precedent to other states. Residents of this district have better access to medical care because the ones who could not afford insurance are eligible for the Healthy San Francisco program. It’s not for free but it has made medical care more affordable because the fees will depend on the individual’s ability to pay. This would be far cheaper than what HMOs charge.
