TypeStats creates special files called Snapshots which contain a list of names of files and folders, in hierarchical order, from any folder on any drive that you specify. TypeStats can create many Snapshots and store them anywhere you specify, so that a database of filenames and folders can be created. The main purpose of TypeStats is to then display that information in a more comprehensive manner than Windows Explorer does, by focusing on the types of files rather than the filenames themselves and providing extended statistics about those filetypes.
